HIS WORD SETTLES IT!
From Revelation 19:11 & 15 we read, “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war… And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations…”
HIS WORD SETTLES IT! Maybe you’ve heard it said, “If God says it, I believe it, and that settles it.” But the truth is…if God says it, that settles it, whether we believe it or not. In our verses for today, we are given one of the most powerful and amazing scenes in all of Scripture. It is that future event we know as the second coming of Christ and the Battle of Armageddon. The stage is set. The Antichrist has gathered all the armies of the earth to war against the Lord. It is Satan’s final attempt to overthrow the throne of Heaven. Weapons are drawn. Everything looks ready for the ultimate showdown. And then…He appears. Heaven opens, and Jesus comes riding forth in His glorious power, followed by the armies of Heaven. This time, He is not coming for His Church…He is coming with His Church. He’s not wearing a crown of thorns nor does He come as a suffering servant or a silent Lamb. He comes as the conquering King. And what happens next is both amazing and simple. There is no long, drawn-out battle. The moment the conflict begins…it is already over. With the sword of His mouth, His Word, Jesus simply speaks, and His enemies fall. Boom! Just like that! WOW!
THE POWER OF GOD’S WORD! The same Word that spoke creation into existence in Genesis…The same Word that calmed the storm for the disciples on the sea…The same Word that raised Lazarus from the dead…is the same Word that will one day bring every force of hell to nothing.
We carry our Bibles…we read our Bibles…we even quote our Bibles…but how often do we truly stop and consider the power behind it? The Bible is not just ink on paper. It’s not just history or helpful advice. This is the living, powerful Word of God. And the very Word that will one day end the final battle is the same Word you hold in your hands today. That means when God speaks, things happen. When He makes a promise, you can stand on it. When He gives a command, it carries authority. When He declares truth, it must not be debated or argued. His Word is final!
THE REALITY OF HIS VICTORY. Revelation 19 reminds us of something we need to remember: Satan is no match for Jesus and it’s not even close. There is no equal struggle between good and evil. This is not a tug-of-war with an uncertain ending. Our enemy may roar at you like a lion, try to deceive you, and continually oppose you, but he is already defeated. And one day, that defeat will be fully and finally realized with just a word from the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Amen?!
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU TODAY… What are you facing right now? A burden that feels overwhelming? A situation that seems out of control? A battle that looks like it’s not going your way? It’s easy to get discouraged when all we see is the size of the problem. But Revelation 19 pulls back the curtain and reminds us of a great truth: The same Jesus Who will one day end the final battle with His Word is the same Savior who walks with you today.
SO REMEMBER… The next time fear tries to take hold…The next time your problems feel bigger than your faith…The next time it looks like evil is gonna win…be encouraged. The battle is not uncertain. The outcome is not in question. The victory is already decided. And it will all be settled…by His Word. So spend time in the Book. Trust it. Claim it. Stand on it. Because the Word that will one day bring final victory is the same Word that can bring peace, strength, and assurance to your heart today. Why? Because His Word settles it! Think it over… 🙏
